Nightfall, also known as Nocturnal Emission, is a natural condition in which semen is released involuntarily during sleep. It commonly occurs during adolescence and early adulthood, particularly between the ages of 10 and 20, as the body undergoes hormonal changes. Although it is more common in males, females may also experience sexual dreams and nocturnal arousal. In most cases, nightfall is a completely normal biological process and should not be considered a disease.
Occasional nightfall is generally harmless and does not require treatment. However, if it becomes very frequent or is accompanied by symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, weakness, disturbed sleep, or emotional distress, it is advisable to seek medical consultation. Factors such as excessive sexual thoughts, prolonged abstinence, stress, anxiety, hormonal fluctuations, smoking, alcohol consumption, and an unhealthy lifestyle may contribute to frequent nocturnal emissions.
Ayurveda focuses on identifying the underlying cause of frequent nightfall and restoring balance through natural herbal medicines, dietary improvements, stress management, and lifestyle modifications. With proper guidance and treatment from an experienced Ayurvedic physician, the condition can be effectively managed while supporting overall reproductive and sexual health.
